The Call to Post
(to the tune of Amazing Grace)
The call to post, how sweet the sound,
that summons us to give;
Once wrapped in self, but now we share,
once dead, but now we live.
The cross becomes our post to start,
the cross always our dare;
How calling is the cross to us,
Expecting us to care.
Our ministries and missions, they -
no call to post -would be
dead, dormant, fruitless, and empty
just like a lifeless tree.
Beyond much fear, uncertainty,
we have already gone;
The cross has led us to this place,
the post still leads us on.
The post, the cross of Jesus Christ,
a never ending call;
It is our stewardship for life,
demands from us our all.
