Canaan House
Canaan House is a residential facility in Lexington KY designed to provide safe and affordable housing for persons with severe mental illness. Canaan House is committed to affording non-judgmental, loving and life-enhancing care that affirms the self worth and dignity of its residents, and offering community education about the needs of homeless mentally ill persons and the opportunity to participate in their care.
Canaan House is needed because many of Lexington’s homeless persons have a severe mental illness. Often, they cannot succeed in traditional forms of housing. Canaan House offers a stable, personal living arrangement that combines individual attention to residents needs with few restrictions. Residents are encouraged to participate in daily living and house operations as one way to begin taking charge of their lives. Your love makes a difference!
